At Hendriks Consulting we pride ourselves in offering high quality, professional and innovative services in organization development, coaching and facilitation. Following an action research model, we draw on multiple methods and approaches to design interventions that respond to organizational and individual needs, including appreciative inquiry, open space, future search and world cafes. In specific, we offer services in action learning, change management, coaching, facilitation, strategic planning and teambuildling.

Action Learning Groups and Peer Coaching Circles

Action learning is a process of collaborative inquiry in which individuals come together to solve problems of meaning to the organization. During these facilitated sessions, groups of 6-8 managers will meet for a full-day once a month to tackle problems of consequence. This innovative approach encourages individual reflection and action, with powerful results that impact the entire organization. Managers learn to engage in active listening and potent questioning and have opportunities for personal growth and networking.

Change Management

Proactive management of organizational transitions encourages an engaged, empowered and commited workforce. We will help you develop a plan for managing your change that will engage employees, encourage communication at all steps of the process and make sure that you systematically evaluate success and lessons learned so that you have information for future initiatives. Our approach to change management encourages involvement from organizational members at all levels of the organization.

Career and Life Coaching

If you are looking for one-on-one or group coaching services for yourself or other members of your organization, we are here to help. We engage in a process of exploration and active inquiry with clients to allow them to set and reach individual and organizational goals. By asking powerful questions, engaging in exploratory action and reflecting upon the impact of these actions, we work with clients to empower them to make changes in their careers and lives. As part of the coaching process, we  may administer tools that can help individuals to better understand their strengths and weaknesses, areas of interest, learning styles, core values and beliefs and personal preferences. Tools that we are certified to administer include the following:

Meeting Design and Facilitation

With a proven record in exceptional meeting design and facilitation, we will work with you to design and deliver a meeting, consultation session, retreat, forum, conference or seminar that is tailored to your individual needs. Moreover, we will ensure that the design is based on measurable success indicators, aimed toward achieving desired outcomes. Our extensive understanding of group dynamics and verbal and nonverbal communication will also allow you to feel confident that the meeting with stay focused on objectives and leave participants feeling energized and valued.

Strategic Planning

Our comprehensive approach to strategic planning involves engaging organizational members early and throughout the process. We begin by conducting a background strategic analysis of the organization, meeting with internal and external stakeholders to learn about the organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats via interviews and focus groups. Interviews and focus groups use a combination of an appreciative inquiry approach to data collection (focusing on past successes) and issues identification (to determine threats, risks and challenges).

Questions that could be addressed during this phase include ones such as the following: Where are we as an organization? What sets us apart? What is our passion? Where do we want to be one, two or three years from now? What do we have to work with? What challenges are we likely to encounter in reaching our objectives? We may also design a survey to increase the breadth of the scope of the planning, depending upon the size of the organization and its reach. Subsequently, we might design a planning retreat in which we would discuss issues such as the following:

  • Mission, vision and values of the organization;
  • Organizational direction;
  • Priorities;
  • Strengths and weaknesses;
  • Threats, risks and pressures;
  • Opportunities;
  • Measurable objectives and goals;
  • Key strategies;
  • Operating plan with timeline and resources.

Teambuilding and Team Effectiveness

Teams are the foundation upon which successful organizations are built. We believe in the importance of bringing team members together to understand the principles of what makes for effective teams while engaging them in dynamic and fun activities that can bring these points home. We can facilitate on or off-site team retreats that meet your organizational objectives while creating fun and enriching environments in which to do so. We are certified in a number of proven tools, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the FIRO-B and the Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument and have experience designing customized activities to meet a variety of objectives.

Client feedback: "Facilitation was very good."
